Independent Legal is a Perth legal practice that specialises in providing independent legal advice to borrowers and guarantors, including borrowers for Reverse Mortgage and Equity Release loans.
It is usually a condition of a Reverse Mortgage, Equity Release or “Equity Unlock” loan that you obtain independent legal advice. This is the bank’s way of ensuring that you are fully aware of the implications and risks associated with taking out the loan.
At a meeting we will explain all relevant aspects of the loan and associated mortgage to you. If you are happy to proceed with the loan, we will then witness your signature of all relevant bank documents - this will usually include the Loan Agreement; a Mortgage; and a Statutory Declaration. We will also provide and sign a Solicitor's Certificate if required by the bank.
Our office is centrally located at Suite 8, 224 Carr Place, Leederville, Western Australia (see map, below). For clients travelling by train, our office is a short 5 minute walk from Leederville Train Station.
We offer very competitive fixed rates and fast turnaround - in most cases we will have appointments available within 24 hours and often the same day. Consultations are also available after hours and on Saturdays (subject to availability and additional charges).
